And Vice Versa - First Day

It's Friday, August 24th. My alarm clock went off at 6AM. After getting ready and getting all my stuff in the car I head over to Daniel's place to pick him up. Daniel-Dan-Danny will be my DP and AD for all the paparazzi shots in And Vice Versa. We shot the first set of paparazzi images at the California Yacht Club in Marina Del Rey, where Barbara and Yumio arranged for us to use one for their friend's rather big sail boat. The idea of using a marina set-up as one of the paparazzi style scenes in the short film, came to me after I looked at the famous last photos of princess Diana and Dodi. These photos were taken a week before they died and sold for millions. In them the couple was seen enjoying their vacation in Italy on board of El Fayed's yacht.
Alexandra, a German beauty from my UCLA class, was made into the mysterious Elisabeth, while Douglas, the actor who auditioned and cast last week, became Roger Martin. Alex and I shopped in Beverly Hills this Monday to find her perfect, princess-like and very European looking outfits. For this yacht scene, she is dressed in a stunning black bathing suit with a plunging neckline. Her pearl bracelet, her huge black sunglasses and her blue navy headscarf made her look like a classic glamour princess. Princess Grace reincarnated. Douglas was wearing a pink polo short and white shorts, which made him look like the perfect jet set yacht owner. The two them looked fab and Danny's images were, sorry, are awesome! The paparazzi feel I was looking for. Yumio, who was there to help us on the boat, made amazing photos, also in paparazzi style, which I needed to create one of the last magazine covers. This whole shoot took us less than an hour. 30 minutes to shoot everything and another 30 to make some last stills and clean up the boat. Afterwards, Daniel and I picked up one of Tom's Canon bodies, to use as a prop, together with one of Yumio's telephoto lenses in tomorrow's scenes.
Now it's off to my lap top, to create 9 different Gotcha covers, two Royal Pedigree covers and a few back ads for all the magazines ...
